Distance Learning License Rights

INTELECOM grants extensive distance learning rights to provide institutions the greatest possible flexibility for course implementation and content delivery.  With a distance learning license, INTELECOM courses can be offered as a traditional telecourse, a blended or hybrid course, or entirely online.

License rights include:

  • delivery of course videos via local PBS or cable station;
  • unlimited duplication of course videos / CDs/ DVDs for distribution to enrolled students (e.g., check-out, loan, sale through college bookstore);
  • purchase of student VCD and DVD sets ($25 per set) from INTELECOM for distribution to enrolled students (e.g. check-out, loan, sale through college bookstore);
  • referral of course-enrolled students to INTELECOM's student store for purchase of VCDs, DVDs, and video streams.
  • digitization of course videos for retransmission on PBS or cable, or portable digital storage (e.g., CD or DVD);
  • streaming of course videos as part of blended, hybrid and online courses;
  • streaming of video excerpts in conjunction with viewing of entire video programs;
  • customizable online content for use within course management systems.

If an institution is interested in augmenting an online course with selected programs from an INTELECOM course, a partial distance learning license may be appropriate. Please contact an INTELECOM representative for details.
